City want Lionel Messi First Refusal

Lionel Messi does not want to leave Barcelona, but Manchester City want to be sure... Manchester City want to have first refusal to buy Lionel Messi if he were ever to leave Camp Nou and have held talks with Barcelona and the player, according to a report. Despite the Argentinian ace stating regularly that he never wants to move to a different club, the nouveau riche Premier League outfit want to make sure that if he does they will be involved. The People believe that City were ready to break the world transfer record to try and prise Messi away from Barça this summer, but were told there was no chance. Instead of the public saga that saw them embarrassed by Kaka in January, the English club have opted to try and strike a deal that would see them secure the right to sign him in the future. That may go down well with Barcelona should a fee be involved, but it is highly unlikely that Messi, or his father and agent Jorge, would agree to a restrictive agreement. The Blaugrana famously paid for medical treatment that helped Messi develop as a youngster and he feels indebted to the club that have given him the stage to become one of the world's best players. On numerous occasions the Blaugrana idol has stated that he does not want to ever play for another team and City could again be told that there is no deal to be done.
