Chelsea went back to the top of the Barclays Premier League with victory at Manchester United.
Joe Cole's clever backheel flick put the visitors ahead after just 20 minutes and substitute Didier Drogba doubled the advantage 11 minutes from time with a firm finish after the offside flag stayed down.
United substitute Federico Macheda bundled in from close range two minutes later to set up a tense finale but Carlo Ancelotti's side hung on to seize the whip-hand in the title race.
