Bayern Munich Set to Capture Berbatov

Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov could be offered a way out of his Old Trafford misery as Bayern Munich look set to launch a bid for the frustrated Bulgarian.

According to the News of the World, Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to off-load the under-fire frontman this summer. Following his £30.75 million move to United, Berbatov has failed to meet the high standards he set at Tottenham Hotspur.

Having spent five years in Germany at Bayer Leverkusen, it is speculated that Berbatov will favour a return to the Bundesliga, and he is expected to fall further down the pecking order at United with the arrival of summer signing Javier Hernandez.

Berbatov appeared as a substitute in Manchester United’s win over city rivals Manchester City, and has found the net on 12 occasions this season.
